THE ANSWERS ARE

IN FRONT OF US

Nature's Defence's profound understanding of structural biochemistry and structural phytochemistry has established the company as a leading UK research facility with a host of blue chip customers taking advantage of our expertise.

One of the first discoveries made by our team of researchers was of the way in which humans use dietary phytonutrients to control cell mutations. This work led to the discovery of a group of compounds known as Salvestrols that may be of extraordinary importance to maintaining homeostasis. As part of our unique research program Nature's Defence has teamed up with Summerhill Winery to become research partners. The Summerhill Pyramid Vineyard covers over 80 acres in the Okanagan Valley. Their organically grown grape varieties include; Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer, Ehrenfelser and Pinot Meunier – all of which are flourishing in the northernmost desert viticulture region of the world. Summerhill is a certified organic vineyard  that uses neither fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, nor chemical fertilizers in their soil or growing methods. With  the winery's collaboration, Nature's Defence's research team will have access to this unique fruit, grown in a controlled way and in a clean environment. This will allow our team to further study the natural mechanisms that produce the high levels of Salvestrols found in grapes grown at Summerhill. Nature's Defence and Summerhill Winery will use this research to ensure that maximum levels can be maintained in the wine.
The Okanagan Valley in BC Canada is a semiarid desert with only twenty eight centimeters of rainfall per year and hardly any humidity in any season. This, combined with the warm air that sweeps their vineyards along the one hundred and twenty kilometers of Lake Okanagan, creates what is perhaps the finest grape growing region in the entire world!

Salvestrols have been described by Professor Dan Burke as, “The most significant breakthrough in nutrition since the discovery of vitamins.”
